APPLICATION

The Herkules Equipment engineering team has many years of experience designing EnKon lifts for complex automotive industry challenges.  In this application, they worked with an integrator to design a scissor lift that incorporates with several operations:

1. The EnKon lift accepts the vehicle battery via a roller conveyor.
2. The lift connects to a floor system that shuttles the entire lift and battery beneath the vehicle.
3. An operator uses a hand pendant to raise the lift toward its mounting position on the vehicle frame.  Custom top plate tooling allows the operator to manually adjust the battery position to achieve proper alignment with the vehicle mounting holes.
4. Due to the proximity of operators and their manual alignment process during the battery lift, safety required a redundant anti-fall device to stop and hold the lift in place if any uncontrolled movement is detected.
5. The operator then uses a crane-mounted tool-assist to bolt the battery to the vehicle.
